Linda Oatman High is an award-winning author of books for children and teens. She also teaches writing workshops. Linda holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College. Recent publications include the chapter book series HEATHER WHIRL WEATHER GIRL. Gwendolyn Hooks writes fiction, nonfiction and magazine articles. When she is not writing, Gwendolyn visits schools to share her passion for books with students.  She is a frequent speaker at teacher and librarian conferences talking up books and the excitement of writing them. Working from her home in Oklahoma City, Gwendolyn keeps busy planning new projects to help kids explore their world through reading.

Suzanne Kamata was born and raised in the United States, but she has lived in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, for over half of her life. She earned an M.F.A. from the University of British Columbia. In addition to writing many stories, essays, and books, she has taught English as a Foreign Language to learners of all ages. Having raised two kids, she now lives with her husband and two cats in Aizumi. Look for her new middle grade novel Pop Flies, Robo Pets, and Other Disasters to come in Spring 2020 from One Elm.

Benjamin Klas lives in Minnesota with his partner and their son. He spends his days block printing, playing the ukulele, parenting, and writing, although not necessarily in that order. After graduating with a degree in writing from North Central University, Benjamin went on to earn a Master of Library and Information Science from St. Catherine University. His work has appeared in several small literary magazines and a collection by queer authors.

 

Rachelle Kreisman has been a children's writer and editor for many years. She wrote hundreds of classroom magazines for Weekly Reader. Those issues included health topics about nutrition, sports safety, illness prevention, and fitness. When Rachelle is not writing, she enjoys taking walks, hiking, biking, kayaking, an doing yoga in her Connecticut community.

Jean Lawler is the author of Experience Personal Power. Jean learned to experience and enjoy her own personal power, at her home in New Hampshire, after a long and successful career in publishing with D.C.Heath, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Heinemann.  

William Loizeaux is an award-winning author of books for young readers and adults, as well as a writer of stories and essays.  His children’s novel Wings received the 2006 ASPCA Henry Bergh Award and was the 2006 Golden Kite Honor Book for Fiction.  His memoir Anna: A Daughter’s Life was a New York Times Notable Book, and his novel The Tumble Inn was the grand prize winner at the 2015 New York Book Festival.  Loizeaux has been writer-in-residence at Johns Hopkins and Boston University.  He lives with his wife in Washington, DC.  Read an Interview with the author about his motivation for writing Into the Wind.  Interview click here.

JoAnn Early Macken has written more than 130 books for young readers. JoAnn earned her M.F.A. in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts. JoAnn has taught writing at four Wisconsin colleges, and she speaks about poetry and writing to children and adults at schools, libraries, and conferences. Jennifer Marino Walters is a writer and editor specializing in family and parenting topics. Joanne Mattern is the author of nearly 350 books for children and teens. She began writing when she was a little girl and just never stopped!
